Math

Peninsula High School's math classes emphasize collaboration and problem-based learning to engage our students in developing as "whole math students." Essential questions such as, "Whose voice is heard in data and how is it interpreted and represented?" and "How is math important in our lives and in our community?" drive our learning, allowing us to explore complex mathematical topics and make math relevant to our students.

Courses are aligned with the Common Core State Standards and the Standards for Mathematical Practice. Students are given ongoing formative assessments to help them track their progress toward conceptual understanding and procedural fluency. Summative assessments, in the form of both exams and projects, are used to track content mastery.
