Counseling Services
If you or your child is in need of mental health support the following are local organizations that can be of service.
Adolescent Counseling Services offers affordable individual and group counseling for teens and their families in the Silicon Valley.
Star Vista offers individual, family and group therapy services. Star Vista also works with teaching skill development and crisis intervention to all in the community.
Youth Services Bureau works in schools and in the community offering sliding scale fee services to those in the community.
Edgewood supports youth and their families through life’s challenges with a full continuum of behavioral health services.
San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services offers a variety of services through the county.
Rape Trauma Services specializes in providing counseling service for youth and adults who have been victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse
Grief Support
Loss comes in many shapes and forms and for anyone can be painful.
Kara supports all ages through whatever grief you might be experiencing.
LGBTQ+
San Mateo County has a large number of resources to support our LGBTQ+ community
San Mateo Pride Center is a hub for LGBTQ+ young and old with a variety of counseling services, community events and support.
Gender Spectrum helps to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens
Outlet is place where all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQQ+) youth can be supported through individual and group counseling. Outlet helps build safe and accepting communities through support, education, and advocacy.
Lyric offers a variety of services to the LGBTQ+ community including case management, workforce development, group counseling, and educating school environments all in order to help this population survive and thrive in life.
The Trevor Project helps LGBTQ+ teens and adults in times of crisis, preventing suicide and also educates the community on issues that pertain to the LGBTQ+ community.
PFLAG of San Francisco is a support community for Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.
SMUHSD Resources for Students and Families: support tools and resources to address lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) topics in the school and home setting.
Relationship Abuse
Unfortunately relationship abuse is beginning younger and younger. If you or your child needs support here are some resources
CORA is an organization that supports all ages impacted by domestic violence.
One Love is helping change the conversation of emotional abuse by educating youth and the community about the warning signs of emotional abuse and educating the community.
Love is Respect teaches youth and the community about healthy dating practices.
