Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are anticipating your student will participate in the Spring 2025 Graduation Ceremony for Peninsula High School. In the event your student does not complete the graduation requirements by Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at 3pm our Counseling Office will contact you.

The PHS 2025 graduation ceremony will be held:

Thursday, May 29 at 2 p.m. 
Capuchino High School Main Theater
1501 Magnolia Drive, San Bruno CA 

Please arrive early… parking is limited and a short distance from the theater. 

Upcoming Senior Days/Events

May 16: Six Flags Field Trip

  • All Graduating Seniors will be able to attend our Senior Day field trip on Friday, May 16, 2025 to SIX FLAGs in Vallejo.   
  • All Graduating and qualifying Non-Graduating seniors will be able to participate in Senior Day.  Senior Activities will take place off the PHS campus from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. This will be an exciting event for students to enjoy their remaining time at PHS.  
  • Non-graduating seniors will have the opportunity to attend Senior Day only if they fulfill the following criteria:
    • Passing all classes in the third trimester
    • Positive attendance and discipline record in the third trimester
  • Students should remember that they represent their school while on field trips, and that all school rules and regulations apply while on field trips. Any significant disciplinary issues in the last six weeks of school OR on Senior Day can result in a Senior being barred from the Graduation event. Please behave accordingly!

May 27: Senior Checkout/Activity Day

  • Senior Checkout/Activity Day is Tuesday, May 27, 9 a.m. - 2:35 p.m. on the PHS Campus.  Staff will be putting together events for our graduates while Seniors complete ALL Checkout Requirements. 

May 28: Graduation Rehearsal

  • Our graduation rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 8:45 a.m.  at Capuchino High School - Seniors must check in at 8:45 a.m. 
  • ALL graduates must attend the rehearsal in order to participate in the graduation ceremony on the stage… there will be no exceptions! Please make necessary arrangements to make the time available on Wednesday, May 28th, during regular school hours. Students should not plan on leaving rehearsal prior to noon in case the practice needs to run longer. Seniors may find their own transportation to Capuchino HS.   If Seniors need transportation to Capuchino HS, please sign up in the main office.
  • Cap and gowns will be distributed at rehearsal. Each student should take the cap and gown out of the bag and iron it with a “cool” iron before graduation. Irons will not be available at the ceremony.

Graduation Ceremony

Tickets

Tickets for the ceremony will be given to the graduates at the rehearsal. Each graduate will receive four (4) tickets at the end of rehearsal. Families wishing to receive additional tickets for graduation may sign-up for the waiting list by Wednesday, May 21, with Ms. Barrientos in the Main Office, or by email at nbarrientos@smuhsd.org or by phone: 650-558-2402.  Any extra tickets will be distributed as they become available and in the order of the requests. All children two (2) years and older must have a ticket to be admitted to the ceremony.

Graduation Attire - Mandatory

  • Students are expected to dress for the occasion.
  • Slacks, collared shirt, nice dress, or skirt & blouse 

Rules/Behavior

  • ALL GRADUATES MUST ARRIVE AT CAPUCHINO HS NO LATER THAN 12:15 p.m.  ON THURSDAY, MAY 29.
  • Please be on time. The ceremony will start promptly at 2 p.m. and the doors will be closed once the processional begins. Once closed, members of the audience will be admitted once the graduates are seated on stage.
  • The aisles must be kept clear at all times.  Strollers and any other objects must be left in vehicles and outside of the theater. Please leave balloons, posters, and signs in your cars until after the ceremony.
  • Bullhorns, noise makers, and whistles will not be allowed during the ceremony. Violators will be asked to leave and escorted out.
  • Students, families, and friends, please be respectful to your fellow graduates, faculty, staff, parents, and community members before, during, and after the ceremony. This is a very important moment and each graduate deserves their recognition.  All of us represent Peninsula High School in this important event.

Photographs

  • Life Touch Photographers will be on hand at our graduation ceremony. The following services will be available:
    • Panoramic Senior class picture will be taken at 12:30 p.m.  Students should arrive by 12:15 pm. The photo must be paid on graduation day, checks or cash only, payable to Lifetouch/Prestige Portraits.
    • Handshake photograph with the principal on stage and processional (orders online only.)

Note:  The school does not have any other information regarding photographs

Unpaid Bills and Chromebooks

  • Please ensure any and all outstanding bills and overdue books are cleared with PHS or any SMUHSD school by May 23.  A student’s diploma and graduation tickets will be withheld if all school bills are not cleared. Please contact Ms. Barrientos at 650-558-2402 for more details.
  •  
  • All borrowed Chromebooks and chargers must be returned by May 23.  If a Chromebook is not returned, a student’s diploma and graduation tickets will be withheld until the Chromebook is returned or the fee is paid.  The cost for a lost/stolen/damaged Chromebook is $250 and the fee for a lost/stolen/damaged charger is $30.
